You can apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer (CT) either during enrollment or orientation. You will need to provide the original or certified copies of relevant documents. Please note that there is a fee for assessing your RPL status or processing the credit transfer, which can be found in our handbook and website price lists. If credit is approved, international students may have the benefit of a IT course duration and visa validity.

If you finish all the necessary units of this course, you will be awarded a nationally recognized ICT60220 - Advanced Diploma of Information Technology. Students who don't complete all the required units may receive a Statement of Attainment for partially completing the ICT60220 - Advanced Diploma of Information Technology.

6 core units  plus

10 elective units , of which:

  • at least 7 units must be selected from the elective units listed below

  • up to 3 units may be selected from the remaining listed elective units or from this or any currently endorsed Training Package or accredited course where the units are packaged in an Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) Level 5 or 6 qualification.

Elective units must be relevant to the work environment and the qualification, maintain the integrity of the AQF alignment, not duplicate the outcome of another unit chosen for the qualification, and contribute to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome.

Classroom Learning:

The instructor will introduce each unit and provide in-depth knowledge through various teaching methods during the classroom sessions. The course materials are comprehensive, and the trainer will guide students through interactive learning activities and digital challenge tests available on SIC eSpace online.


Structured Online Learning:

In addition to the 20 scheduled contact hours, an extra 4 hours per week are allocated for structured online learning. This time is for students to revise, practice, and reinforce what they have learned in the classroom and practical sessions. The online learning platform is organized according to units and topics, making it easy for students to explore and progress through the course at their own pace based on their understanding and confidence in the subject matter. Some learners may move through the material more quickly, while others may take more time, depending on their comfort level with the topics.
